C51 Version 7 FAQ

C51 Version 7 offers many new and enhanced features that make developing 8051 embedded applications easier than ever. Following is a FAQ that should address most of your questions and concerns.
What's new in Version 7? 
C51 Version 7 incorporates many new features including: 
-New compiler and linker optimizations that shrink program size.  
-Complete simulation for more devices.  
-The New ISD51 In-System Debugger which allows you to debug programs running on unmodified target hardware.
-Better support for 24-bit addresses on the Philips MX.
-New release of RTX51 Tiny which is enhanced with new functions, is smaller, and offers more features.




How does Version 7 compare to previous versions?

Can I preview the release notes for Version 7?
-Yes. The release notes are now available in HTML format.



What if I just licensed Version 6?
-When you licensed C51 Version 6, the software maintenance contract that was included allows you to download 
 all updates for a period of 1 year. We have extended that to include upgrades as well. You may download the 
 C51 Version 7 update from the web site. 


Where can I get an upgrade?
-If you licensed C51 Version 6 after May 15, 2001 or if you have current software maintenance, you may download 
 the C51 Version 7 update. 
What if my software maintenance period is expired?  
-If your software maintenance period has expired, in China, please contact us.
