32-bit Architecture

-Tomorrow's Embedded COTS Solutions

Phytec provides board-level support of high-performance ARM core (ARM7, XScale), PowerPC and embedded x86 devices. Driven by the performance and cost sensitive PC industry, the latter two processors provide price/performance ratios matched by few other high-end embedded architectures. Both controller families also leverage the desktop learning curve given the familiarity of these processors and development tools to programmers and system developers. Crossing high performance (up to 800 MIPS) with low power consumption, the ARM processor core provides solutions for wireless, consumer, imaging, automotive, industrial, networking applications and more.

*Process-Intensive Computing

Phytec Single Board Computers support 32-bit ARM, XScale, AMD x86 and Motorola PowerPC embedded microcontrollers, upon which an increasing number of embedded applications are based. 32-bit embedded counterparts have evolved from the x86 and PowerPC processors that once dominated desktop computing and are tailored for use with real-time operating systems. General controller features, in addition to a PC-compatible CPU, include: integrated memory controller, PC/AT and LCD graphics controllers; enhanced system and power management; serial ports and essential mobile computing and communication peripherals.

*The PowerPC

The PowerPC embedded processor is well suited for high-end automation and control applications. It is a high-speed 32-bit control unit that combines high-performance data manipulation capabilities with on-chip memory, CAN and an efficient instruction cache. The PowerPC can host a variety of embedded operating systems.

*ARM7

Optimized for cost and power-sensitive applicatons, the ARM7TDMI solution provides small size, high performance and low power consumption needed in portable, embedded applications. The core incorporates the Thumb 16-bit instruction set, enabling 32-bit performance and increased code density.

*ColdFire

The MCF548x microprocessor is based on the V4e ColdFire core and features multiple connectivity peripherals including Ehternet, CAN, USB, PCI and other serial interfaces. In addition, this device offers an encryption accelerator for secure communications in network connected control applications.
