-The Universal Target System Access to ANY C16x, XC16x and ST10 Hardware

The basic package of Universal Debug Engine includes target monitors for a number of evaluation boards and a generic bootstraploader monitor.

The Monitor Development Kit provides a portable monitor development solution for Universal Debug Engine which allows to create application hardware specific monitors for C16x, XC16x, ST10 and TriCore based target systems. Beside the ASC0/RS232, a number of additional serial interfaces are supported to achieve maximum flexibility in adapting the microcontroller hardware.

The monitor requires about 3KB in ROM/FLASH (4KB with CAN support/debugging) and 100 Bytes in RAM. Except for CAN debugging which might be used in parallel to an application running the CAN, debugging via a particular serial interface disables this interface for the application.

The portable monitor development toolkit is available for the TASKING, KEIL C166 and the GNU compiler.

• Source code for various communication paths between target and host PC:

1. Asynchronous serial RS232 interface.
2. Asynchronous serial RS232 interface with bootstrap loader support.
3. Synchronous serial interface (SSC Interface C165/C167).
4. Synchronous serial interface (3Pin Interface).
5. CAN (C164, C167, ST10 derivatives). The CAN interface may be shared with the application.

Ordering Conditions

Any order must include the Monitor Configuration Form (available from pls, pls' homepage or distributors). The specific demands of the customer will be accepted by acknowledgement of the order.

Basic version

Monitor software including one fully configured adaptation depending on the customer requirements. Support during start-up of the customized monitor via telephone or email. An unlimited number of additional customer specific configurations may be generated by the user. Configurations may be generated by the user. Configuration services by pls available upon request.

Source included version

Additionally to Basic: All sources for target routines including source updates via Internet and unlimited number of customized adaptations for one year.
